What we offer
- Remedial classes: Our remedial program is to bridge the gap between what a child knows and what he/she is expected to know at that age. It is an intensive individualized program developed according to the needs of the student with a focus on mathematics and reading through perceptual activities, sensory play and fine- and gross motor skills.
- Learning support: Learning support includes either a complete or partial modification of the curriculum.
- Adaptive PE: Individualized adaptive PE programs has a focus on movement skills, strength and coordination.
- Social skills and behavior therapy: therapy focusing on social skills deficits, for example self-concept, social cues, conversation skills and building relationships. This intervention also covers behavioral therapy focusing on identifying the specific behavior, identifying the cause of the behavior and designing an intervention plan that would change the inappropriate behavior to a socially acceptable behavior.
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Life Centered Education: Through our LCE program, students are equipped with the necessary skills to function as independent and productive individuals in the home and society.
- Special Needs Classes: An individualized, 1:1 program is developed through assessment and an Individual Education Plan (IEP) is formulated to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Modification of curriculum: Adapting a specific subject area to suit a learner’s specific learning needs. Modifications are presented in the main stream classroom and individual learning support lessons.
- IEP: Individual education plan based on scientific evidence gathered through an assessment process.
- Assessments: Assessment are used to set up an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We make use of The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills as well as MAPS.
- The NAIS Impact Centre creates an individualized academic, social skills and life skills plan to serve each learner’s specific needs with specific goals. Learners are also integrated into elective classes to receive modified instruction to suite their individualized need and they receive their own individualized schedule.
- At the IMPACT Centre it is important to ensure that the variations of how children think is being celebrated and integrated into their learning processes.
